- Description
-
Top of limestone stela, mainly pediment. Below is the apex of a shrine with recessed border with dentil, bead and reel and plain moulding. At its apex are stylised flowers, one above the other. They support a Tanit figure with an upturned crescent (possibly a moon) on her head. She holds cornucopiae from which emerge clusters of dates/grapes on the left, and a pomegranate on the right. On one side of the pediment is a nude Venus holding a round offering (possibly a piece of fruit or apple). Also emerging from the pediment are branches with flowers. Above the crescent is a wreathed sun face with deeply carved multi-petalled rosette on either side. In the field are countersunk circles.
