- Description

Aragonite (shell core) cylinder seal, a female worshipper, with hands clasped, approaches a woman who stands facing her while gesturing behind her towards a seated woman (a goddess ?) who holds a child on her lap.Behind this seated figure stands another child and an attendant who, though facing left, is looking back over her shoulder and seems to be following the worshipper. All the women wear fringed robes, or in one case, a fringed skirt. They wear their hair in a loop at the back. The seal is most indistinct on one side owing to the deterioration of the shell from which it is made. Because of this, the figure of the child who stands behind the seated figure is barely discernable. The child is standing with both arms held out towards the seated figure. The child probably wears a fringed robe.
