- See Naoko Takahatake, 'The chiaroscuro woodcut in Renaissance Italy', Los Angeles 2018, cats.42 to 44 for three impressions of this print with variant inkings. It is one of two impressions of the print in the BM printed in Vicentino's workshop in the 1540s. There is also a later impression by Andrea Andreani (W,4.50).
It is after a drawing by Parmigianino in the Devonshire Collection, Chatsworth (Inv. No. 335). (A. E. Popham, Catalogue of Drawings by Parmigianino, 1971, vol. I, p. 204-5, no. 690).
