- Acquisition notes
- The album W,2 was the second of two albums of prints of the Emilian school arranged by Thomas Philipe in 1808-10. It contained 190 prints, all of which are by or after Parmigianino and his followers, together with prints by others strongly influenced by him. This volume contains mostly prints of secular subjects. The first volume (W,1) contains prints of religious subjects.
The great majority of the prints in the album come from Cracherode, with some 25 from Sloane, to whom seem to belong all the Pond & Knapton facsimiles of drawings.
The album was broken up by G W Reid in April 1875.
