- This is one from a series of six plates showing monkeys after David Teniers the Younger and published by him (Hollstein 43-48). For two complete sets in BM collection see S.4790-4795 and 1850, 0713.155-160. The BM collection also has two title-pages to these series published by Frans van den Wyngaerde; it is not clear if these are of a later date.
