- Francesco Lofano accepts the traditional attribution to the sculptor, comparing the putto in type to those in bronze designed by Fanzago in the 1630s for the altar and ciborium of the Cerosa di San Stefano del Bosco a Serra San Bruno (now Museo Diocesano in Vibo Valentia, see his fig. 6).
