Curator's comments
Other impressions have ornamental border from separate plate, published by Joannes Meyssens. New Hollstein notes: 'P. J. Mariette describes an impression with manuscript: "M[de] Elisabeth Blonde" and proposes an indentification of the wife or daughter of Michel Le Blon (Mariette, II, p. 208).'; see R,1b.122. Cf. etching by Hollar (Pennington 1729).
