- This print is from an unidentified series of country views by Pouncy after Hearne, published by Lowry for Alexander in 1798. Date from published state, 1870,0514.1631. For another impression, see 1867,1214.244.

- The 'Book of Donations 1756-1823' records a large number of prints given by William Alexander, who had been appointed Keeper of Prints & Drawings in 1808, to the BM on 8 December 1810. One group of 6 prints in the gift was of topographical views after Hearne, of which this must be one.
