- Curator's comments
- See Popham 1967, nos. 173 - 216.
An attribution to Lucas Vorsterman is plausible. Reversed etching by Vorsterman (BM, W, 2-142). The drawing corresponds with slight differences, and in reverse, with one in the Parma Gallery (510/1).
Popham 1967
Original unknown. Reversed etching by Vorsterman (B.M. W. 2-142). The drawing corresponds, with slight differences and in reverse, with one in the Parma Gallery (510/1; Freedberg, fig. 107b). A curious point is the indication under Moses' l. foot of the iron tie with which the arch is reinforced in the church, though its function and perspective have been misunderstood by the draughtsman.

- Acquisition notes
- The source of drawings Popham 1967, nos. 173 to 216 was probably a small volume bought by Knight in the sale of Lord Spencer's Colln (Philipe, 18.vi.1811/880) coming from the Colbert's library.
