- In the MS insertion in the departmental copy of CS, this would be 227a.I
There are two plates of this subject, as Mr Sutherland (quoted by CS) conjectured, the second of which went through four major alterations. The states are described in Russell, and also on a type-written insertion in the departmental copy of CS, which lists more minutely the reworkings of the first plate and an additional state for the second. The final two states of the second plate are described by CS under 'Engraver not ascertained: Class II' no. 75.
