- According to W.H. Carpenter's 1845 MS catalogue of the Payne Knight drawings, this was 'begun by Hackert and finished by Hearne'. According to Clarke & Penny, there is a sepia drawing of the same view by Hackert in Berlin, Kupferstichkabinett, Staatliche Museen Preussischer Kulturbesitz, Hackert no. 229 (see: M. Clarke and N. Penny, 'The Arrogant Connoisseur: Richard Payne Knight 1751-1824', 1982, no.109).
