Curator's comments
Identified as brother to King Henri III by the title; the plate was therefore engraved after Henri III's accession to the throne (1574). Engraved after the same portrait as O,10.135. Grivel (2009) has identified the publisher as Jean Rabel the elder (c.1520-1586) in her catalogue raisonné of prints by father and son Rabel in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
