The gift of '2 portraits of himself and one of his dog' by Henry West Betty is recorded in the 'Book of Donations 1756-1823' under 8 June 1822. J T Smith's report to the Trustees dated 8 June 1822 elaborates that the portraits were a full-length after Northcote and a head after Burch, and the dog was after Chalon.
