Facsimile of a letter written by Dr Samuel Johnson to Sir Joseph Banks, dated 27 February 1772, with latin inscription at top, suggested by Johnson for the collar of Banks' goat: 'Perpetui, ambitâ bis terrâ, praemia cactis / Haec habet, altrici Capra Secunda Jovis.'.
