Portrait of Mary 'Perdita' Robinson in the character of Amanda from Cibber's 'Love's Last Shift', study for Bell's British Theatre; whole-length, standing directed to front with head in profile to left, right arm in front of body, holding closed fan, left hand to side of her skirts; wearing panniered dress with blue skirts, white overskirt and broad black decorative trim, ribbon at neck descending to cameo or brooch at bosom, hair worn high and dressed with scarf and feathers.

- For the print, engraved by Thornthwaite, see K,63.212; it is lettered as being published in December 1777, which conflicts with the date '1778' on this mount; the drawing was originally hinged at the lefthand side and placed over the print in the album. Burnim and Highfill note that the actress does not seem to have played this character in London.
