Frontispiece to Bell's British Theatre; portrait of the actor in the character from Arthur Murphy's 'The Orphan of China'; full-length, standing turned slightly to right with right foot forward, head directed and looking angrily three-quarters to left, right hand to chest, left in fist behind him; wearing eastern costume of pantaloons, long patterned jacket (?) tied at waist, from which hanging a scimitar, open cloak, pointed slippers and turban with feathers; in interior with low table behind at left, curtain behind at right covering window (or wall) open to a sea view with eastern-looking ships; proof before letters.
