- Curator's comments
- Stuart notes that the triton on the roof and the capitals of the portal columns were missing; the former was added in keeping with the description of the building by Vitruvius and the capitals were supplied from examples found among the ruins around the building. When discussing plate VII, he adds that the cornice and pediment had fallen from their original places, since they were embedded superficially into the wall; they were supplied here after fragments found in the rubble.
