Interior of a confectioner's shop; a man stands leaning over desk on the right, speaking with a girl who stands before him wearing a green dress and bonnet, holding out tray; outside of the shop a group of young boys are looking on; a set of scales and tray of sweets are on table in centre of shop, a sack of sugar under the table, and a can of treacle on floor behind confectioner; a kettle boils on a fire at back of room; the lettering below reads "What's your pleasure Miss - Why I wants a Fardeneth, of Lollypop, an a Fardeneth, of Brandy-ball, and I must have-em TRADE PRICE, cos they'r to Sell again".
