- Marcantonio's original drawing for this engraving of the same size and direction, now in the Louvre, was identified and published by Marzia Faietti in 'Print Quarterly', VI 1989, pp.308-11. The Cupid in this print was used in an Italian maiolica plate with another subject (British Museum,1855,0313.13); see D.Thornton and T.Wilson, 'Italian Renaissance Ceramics: a Catalogue of the British Museum Collection,' vol.I, London, 2009, p. 266, cat. no.158.
