Description
The Omval; gnarled tree beside River Amstel with a man standing on a bank at right, ferries beyond, a town and wind-mills in background; modern defacement with playing-cards superimposed on scene; eight of clubs and figures of milkmaids and child blowing bubbles. 1645 Etching and drypoint, the playing-cards hand-coloured Watermark: Arms of Amsterdam (Hinterding catalogue, variant A.b.)
