The Flight into Egypt: a night piece; the Virgin seated on a donkey holding the Christ Child, while St Joseph leads the way towards the left while holding a lantern; first state with the figures of Joseph and the Virgin almost entirely white, with only diagonal hatchings in the upper right sky and and in the highlights caused by the lantern, before shading in Joseph's right hand and before additional shading in the lower part of the sky in the upper right. 1651
