C,2.634: Ticket to a dinner with the Society of Universal Goodwill, from 1786; with coat of arms of shield wtih frame of serpents, decorated with animals and a harp, flanked by St George slaying the dragon and Christ with the cross, and motto "be ye wise as serpents, harmless as doves". "H. Brown Fecit / B. Smith Sculpt". Stipple and etching.
C,2.635: Admission ticket, "Medical Society of London / This Ticket admits the bearer to the Anniversary Meeting, in Bolt court on [Monday] the [8th] day of March 179[5] at [1/2 past 2]. The Oration by [Dr Wallis]", at top a vignette of Apollo seated over slaying serpent with bow and arrow.
C,2.636: Admission ticket, "Dolphin Society at the [White Lion / Saturday] the 15th Novr 17[90]. [John Hawking] President"; on plaque surmounted by putti and mythical dolphin, a gentleman and boy standing to the left, and a woman with children to the right.
C,2.637: Admission ticket, "Medical Society of London / This ticket admits the bearer to the Anniversary Dinner, the day of March 179[4] at _ o'Clock". At top a vignette of a statue of Isis holding sistrum and jug, on pedestal with Greek inscription, flanked by sphynxes; a pyramid and classical portico in background. "W. Grainger sculp".
C,2.638: Ticket, "Anchor Society / At the [Assembly Rooms] on [Saturday] the 13th November. Dinner at [3] oClock. [Levi Ames] President", lettering in cartouche with cornucopia and at top an anchor flanked by dolphins and at bottom a cascade with anchor and rope; a crippled man with boy and a woman with children to left and right; ships off coast in background, a curtain at top with eye in centre.
C,2.639: Ticket, "Dinner Ticket, British Fishing Society London Tavern Wednesday 12th May 1802 at 5 o'Clock", lettering on stone on coast with fishing ships behind, and oysters, mackerel, sole and lobsteres on beach in front. "S.I. Neele sculp 352, Strand".
C,2.640: Invitation/ticket, "Sr You are desired to appear at Painter Stainers Hall, on [Wednesday] being the [sixth] day of [December] by [nine] of the clock in the forenoon at a Court of Assistats. Leonard Cotes Beadle", in cartouche decorated with palettes, busts, putti painting and holding print of a bust, with arms of the company at top centre. Engraving, hand-coloured in yellow and blue. Accompanied by note on paper pasted above ticket in Banks's hand, "Leonard Cotes was made free of the Painter Stainers company 27th April 1669, & was probably made Beadle the same day, but the date of his appointment is not on the Company's Books: He was succeeded by E. Baines, 4 June 1701".
C,2.642: Ticket, "Sr You are desired to appear at Painter Stainers Hall on [Wednesday] being the [4th] day of [April] by [ten] of the clock in the forenoon at a [Committee]. Richard Hayes Beadle", on plaque with broken pediment above and coat of arms, with putti standing either side holding brushes and palettes. In pen below by Banks "Richd Hayes was elected Beadle of the painter stainers company 7th Augt 1717 & was succeeded by his son Nathaniel Hayes, 24 June, 1727".
C,2.643: Ticket/invitation, "Sir You are desired to meet your friends, at Cesar Crouch's at the Black Swan, the South Side of St Paul's Church Yard, at _ o'clock in the evening on _ the _ Instant. Sir your humble servt President", in Baroque cartouche with architectural features, a black swan at top, and Chinese figures to either side. "T Chippendale Inv / MDarly sculp Northumbd Court Strand".
