C,2.1817: Ticket for the funeral of Sir Richard King, with view of church and graveyard with mourners surrounding coffin; Time with scythe and hourglass standing over skeletons and ruins to the right; on ticket [Sir / you are requested to atend the funeral of Sir Richard King Baronet from his house in Devonshire Place to the church of St Mary le bone on Thursday 4th December 1806. A coach will attend at your house at half past ten o Clock] and below [D Bruch, Undertaker, 113, Aldersgate Street]. 1806
C,2.1818: Ticket for the funeral of Vice Admiral Bligh; a family of mourners shown surrounding tomb; on ticket "The favor of your company is requested to attend the remains of [Vice Admiral Bligh] from [his] late residence [No.27 Old Bond Street to Lambeth Church on Monday Morng. meet at 9 o clock precisely] and "A mourning coach will call for you at [1/s past 8] o'clock in the [morng] precisely". 1817
C,2.1819: Ticket to see the body of the Duke of Northumberland, with engraved border and crown, inscribed "This Ticket admits four persons to see the Body of the late Duke of Northumberland lie in State at Northumberland House on the 19th and 20th of June 1786, between the hours of ten in the morning and six in the afternoon of each day". - The tickets are not on their original mounts.
On verso of C,2.1822 is inscribed by Sarah Sophia Banks "Tuesday Novr. 13. 1810 Rev. E(dward) N(orthey Canon of Windsor / Revd G(eorge) H(eath) Canon of Windsor. / as well as the Revd E. Northey gave out the tickets. Corners of St George's Chapel".
C,2.1818: The 'Monday' date stated on this ticket for the funeral of Vice-Admiral Bligh is 15 December 1817 (according to various press notices). Bligh had died on the 7th aged 63--not 64 as stated on his tomb inscription at Lambeth--at his Bond Street lodgings while visiting London from his final family home at Farningham, Kent.
