Admission tickets to plays in Gentlemen's houses, and a newspaper clipping. Text within [] indicates hand-written notes.
C,2.1523: Admission ticket, "Mrs Walsingham" in patterned oval with bow, and "[Midsummer nights Dream / April ye 4th 8 o'Clock]". Dated by Banks 1787.
C,2.1524: Admission ticket, "Eaton Theatre / Saturday the twentieth. To begin at Six". Numbered 52 and stamped with seal.
C,2.1525: Newspaper clipping on the Wynnstay Masquerade, dated January 21, 1803, starting "The Wynnstay Masquerade went off with that spirit and eclat for which Sir Watkin's Entertainments are so remarkable." Followed by paragraph describing the event, and remarking on the hospitality and attention of the host.
C,2.1526: Admission ticket to the private theatre of the 4th Duke of Marlborough, at Blenheim Palace, "Blenheim / October [26] 1787, will be performed / The Guardian; with The Lyar. To begin at [7] o'Clock. These tickets are not transferable".
C,2.1527: Admission ticket to the theatre at Blenheim Palace, "Blenheim / October [27] 787, will be performed / False Delicacy, with Who's the Dupe. To begin at [7] o'Clock. These tickets are not transferable".
C,2.1528: Admission ticket to the theatre at Blenheim Palace, "4th Night, Blenheim / [Jany 15th] 1788, will be performed / The Guardian; with The Lyar. To begin at seven o'clock, and the doors to be opened at half past six. These tickets are not transferable, and if not used to be returned previous to the day of performance".
C,2/1529: Admission ticket to the theatre at Blenheim Palace, "4th Night, Blenheim / [Jany 16th] 1788, will be performed / The Musical Lady; with The Maid of the Oaks. To begin at seven o'clock, and the doors to be opened at half past six. These tickets are not transferable, and if not used to be returned previous to the day of performance".
C,2.1530: Admission ticket to the Duke and Duchess of Ancaster's private theatre at Grimsthorpe, with cut and pasted border of triangular points, and engraved rectangular beaded frame, similarly cut and pasted on top of triangles, and inscribed in centre "[Theatre Grimsthorpe / Fantoccini / Admittance Ticket / To begin precisely at Seven o'Clock]". Dated by Banks 1787.
