Portrait of Joseph I, King of Portugal: half-length, directed to the left with face turned to the right, looking at the viewer, wearing armour, sash, hair curled at the sides and tied into a queue; in oval set within lattice arbour, and with at the bottom a winged figure on the left holding a cornucopia full of coins, and on the right a warrior with plumed helmet, shield and spear with a man fallen at his feet. c.1770
