Turner 1999
This is a preparatory drawing for a fresco by Grimaldi in the Palazzo Nuñez (now Torlonia), Rome (Lodi-Fè, 1991, p. 300, fig. 11). Its composition is similar to those of a study in the Louvre, attributed to Domenichino (inv.no. 9108), and a print, which, according to its inscription, was etched by Michel Corneille as after a drawing by Annibale Carracci ('Recueil Jabach', pl. 5D).
