A similar landscape, with figures, is found in a drawing by Grimaldi in the Louvre (inv.no.8337), as has been pointed out by Lodi-Fè (orally), who also noted that both sheets are connected in design to an etching by Jean Pesne after a work by one of the Carracci ('Recueil Jabach', pl. 24c). According to Stephen Bailey, the drawing in the Louvre served as the design for the etching by Jean Pesne as well as for a second etching by the Comte de Caylus (Bailey, 1994, I, p. 611).
