- John Christian retained a photocopy of this drawing from the Witt Library in his notes which shows that this drawing was sold by Sotheby Parke Bernet London on 23 November 1978. It is listed as follows:
"Constant Troyon
118 Arbres dans un paysage
Charcoal on blue paper, heightened with white, signed with initials twice. 17 in by 11 1/4 in, 43cm by 29cm.
Christian annotated this sheet: "Bought from Alec Stirling, early 1999."
A photograph of this drawing mounted has been retained in John Christian's files with a note on the back which states:
"Troyon, Constant
Tall trees by a track
pencil h.w.w. on buff paper.
17 x 11 vers."
