- John Christian purchased this drawing from Abbott & Holder. He retained the related page from Abbott & Holder's list 293, October 1994. The drawing is described as:
"82. An Apostle; a Legros-like pencil drawing c.1885." Christian has annotated the page: "Figure of Pop Sixtus II from Raphael's Sistine Madonna."
