- One of a group of drawings by Paton formerly in the John Christian collection. Variation in style, medium and support suggests that these drawings were produced over a significant period of time, the earliest dated drawing in the collection is from 1847 and the latest 1884.

- One of 42 drawings by Sir Joseph Noel Paton and 2 by Waller Hugh Paton from the John Christian collection, see 2019.7015.452-2019.7015.495. This may be one of the drawings Christian noted that he purchased from Alec Stirling 11.02.02 which include a Holy Family and study of a child.
