- Acquisition notes
- A note in John Christian's files which records the purchase of five large Legros etchings. Bought from Hilary Gerrish at the London Original Print Fair, 20 April 2012.
His note states:
"Like the smaller prints I bought from Hilary two (three) years ago, these five large etchings come from Colhanghi's old stock although I am pretty certain I never saw them when I went through this material that Hilary had in Mason's Yard many years ago. He thinks Colnaghi must have had them directly from Legros himself but would this tally with the experimental nature of some of them (eg: what seems to be an early, unsigned state of the Coup de Vent (Bliss 110?) and that several have clearly been framed retaining the acid marks of old mounts."
The collector's mark on the back of the sheet is that if Thomas Glen Arthur (L.129).
Acquired unmounted by The British Museum. Annotated on the sheet:
"110vi I, 70?n VI 110 Le coup de vent by An Legros 07/83- Box 47. A 9547 In old A stock book."
