- Curator's comments
- Artist's statement on separate sheet:
'As light fades and the shadows deepen, all petty and exacting details vanish, everything trivial disappears, and I see things as they are in great strong masses: the shadow is lost but the picture remains.’ James Abbott McNeill Whistler
A portfolio of 25 original prints was created by members of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, 2018, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of its founder, Sir Francis Seymour Haden. Over 50 prints were submitted each inspired by a member of the RSPP and 25 were chosen for the portfolio by Mychael Barratt, President of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and Jennifer Ramkalawon, Curator in the Dept. of Prints and Drawings, British Museum. One of eight portfolios, all prints were produced in an edition of 15.
