- The 'Nursery Rhymes' print series was published by the artist and Marlborough Graphics in 1989. Printed by Paul Coldwell at Culford Press, London. There are14 artist's proofs and 5 hors de commerce copies. Three etchings were hand-coloured by Charlotte Hodes.
This edition numbered 47/50.
Of the 31 prints, 26 were included in portfolio editions; the remaining five were published separately. All prints were editions of 50, signed and numbered with the exception of 'Untitled' (Rosenthal 35) which was in an edition of 15.
Edition nos 1-15 were in 'De Luxe' portfolios, containing the 26 prints, but also including 'Untitled'. Ed. nos 16-50, a certain number were kept as 'Standard Portfolios' (of which the BM's copy is one), the other prints were sold individually (eg. see 2004,0602.136 and 2004,0602.137).
Five new etchings on the 'Nursery Rhymes' theme were made in 1994 (Rosenthal 112-116, see 2004,0602.134)
30 of the the etchings, with accompanying rhymes were reproduced in the book 'Nursery Rhymes' by Paula Rego, published in October 1994 by the Folio Society and Thames & Hudson.
