- Curator's comments
- Jackowski’s childhood was spent growing up in a refugee camp in North Wales where his Polish parents lived until the late 1950s. These two drawings are from his recent series entitled 'The Voyage' which were shown at Brighton Museum of Art and Purdy Hicks Gallery, London in 2012. Figures are usually shown within an enclosed space. The motif of father and son is clearly autobiographical yet evoking a more universal sense of isolation and alienation.
