- From 'Oeuvres de Salomon Gessner', a collection of Gessner's works translated by Huber, Meister and Bruté de Loirelle, published in three in-folio volumes by Le Barbier, Veuve Hérissant and Barrois aîné in 1786-1793.
The three volumes were illustrated with three title-pages (one per volume), two frontispieces engraved by Ponce and Ingouf after Le Barbier, and 72 full-page illustrations, 4 vignettes and 66 tail-pieces designed by Le Barbier and engraved by Alix, Baquoy, Dambrun, Delignon, Gaucher, Giraud le Jeune, Godefroy, Halbou, Langlois jeune, Le Beau, Lepine, Le Villain, Longueil, Pauquet, Petit, Ponce, Texier, Thomas, Trière and Viguet (see Cohen 433).
The BM keeps a series of seventeen plates (a title-page and sixteen illustrations) from the third volume, although Cohen only records ten illustrations for that volume, and thirty-one for each of the first two volumes. The prints (2011,7059.36 to 52) arrived at the museum bound as a fascicle, in plain brown paper. They are printed on pale blue paper (although the colour is more visible on some prints than others)
