Curator's comments
From "Album du Salon de 1840", a series of lithographs reproducing paintings exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1840. The lithographs were executed by the painters themselves, or by others artists under their direction. They were accompanied by a text by Jules Robert. The series was published by Challamel, "au bureau de la France littéraire, rue de l'Abbaye", in 1840.
