- This is one of a number of similar mezzotints copied after Eberts and Freudeberg: 2010,7081.894, 1232, 1243, 3250. Carington Bowles's address is fictitious, and the plates were made in Germany.
They are copied in reverse direction from plates to 'Monument du Costume Physique et Moral de la fin du Dix-huitième siècle', published by Denis Charles Buldet in 1774. For the original of this plate see 1925.0114.8.
