A stable with a broad awning sheltering a hay-strewn cobbled yard and doorways to stalls inside on the left; a groom holding a horse on the left, while a man standing beside him gestures towards a couple who stand arm-in-arm; a groom unsaddling a horse which drinks at a trough behind to right, another hangs up a halter outside the stall in the background; scratched open-letter state. 1796 Mezzotint
