- This is one of a number of similar mezzotints after Eberts and Freudeberg: 2010,7081.894, 1232, 2043, 3250. The address of Bowles is fictitious, and the prints were made in Germany.
They are copied in reverse direction from plates to 'Monument du Costume Physique et Moral de la fin du Dix-huitième siècle', published by Denis Charles Buldet in 1774. This is after the third plate in the set: for the original see 1925.0114.3.
