- The engraving was exhibited at the Royal Academy, London in 1884 (1411) according to J P Stocks; the painting was exhibited there in 1878 (21).
The print was published in 'The Art Journal': "We engraved the work by permission of the Fine Art Society, the owners of the copyright, and publishers of the magnificent mezzotint by Samuel Cousins RA" ('Our illustrations', 'The Art Journal', January 1884, p.7).
