- The first of four numbered mezzotints depicting scenes from G.M. Orlandini's comic intermezzo in three parts, 'Il marito Giocatore e la moglie Bacchettona.' This was composed in 1715 and tells the story of a gambler, his wife who wishes to divorce him, the means by which he humiliates her and their reconciliation. Its Italianate vivacity and simple arias with wide vocal leaps made it a popular hit all over Europe with revivals in England and France as late as 1752.
