- The same design is found in Henry Blackburn, Academy Notes' 1881, on p.xviii of the advertisements. It is there described as a reproduction in miniature of "the large design by Hubert Herkomer for a Pictorial Advertisement (size 11ft 6ins by 9ft) in reference to which an article appears in 'The Magazine of Art' for May, under the title 'The streets as art-galleries'."
