"Le Charivari",15 January 1834; title page with wood-engraved headpiece of a row of heads, title and two columns of letterpress; pages 2 and 4 with two columns of letterpress; page 3 with a satirical lithograph showing a jester with bells on his clothes walking past the shop of the print-publisher Aubert (above which was the office of the journal) which is full of prints including Philipon's famous caricature of Louis-Philippe as a pear; he plays with a quill pen and pencil on a drum labelled "Charivari", attracting a crowd of subscribers in the form of stacks of coins.
