Text from 'Living with art: The Alexander Walker collection' (British Museum Press, 2020):
An expression of the force of nature, this print depicts flame-like trees battling with the wind against a cloudy, threatening sky. The composition relates to an oil painting on canvas from 1917 (Ingleby, Richard, ed., 'C.R.W. Nevinson: The Twentieth Century', London: Merrell Holberton in association with the Imperial War Museum, 1999, 70). The print was produced in an edition of twenty-five.
