- Keith Vaughan is associated with the Neo-Romantic painters and became friends with Graham Sutherland and John Minton in the 1940s. Male nudes, often grouped together in what he referred to as "Assemblies of Figures", became his presiding subject, usually within a sombre landscape setting.
