- According to an anonymous pupil of Roger Hilton's at Byam Shaw School of Art, Hilton was a pioneer of the method of drawing the nude whereby the figure was continually moving, and this figure was probably drawn in that manner.
Label on the back of the original frame for Waddington Galleries, no date. Written on the back of the frame: "For Anthea Brown". Anthea Brown was David Brown's niece. David Brown was an avid collector of Roger Hilton's work, and the two were close friends. In 1974 he organised the Hilton retrospective for the Scottish Arts Council Gallery.
