- This image of Hilton's wife Rose was used on the cover of Night Letters, his notes written when confined to bed through alcoholism, and published posthumously.
According to an anonymous pupil of Roger Hilton's at Byam Shaw School of Art, Hilton was a pioneer of the method of drawing the nude whereby the figure was continually moving, and this figure was probably drawn in that manner.
