- Curator's comments
- The work was created using wood found during the artist's walk, and the title-card was originally framed in a plain wooden frame and hung above the sculpture - the wood has a hole for a nail (conversation with Roger Ackling, 12/1/04).
David Brown wrote a booklet to accompany 'Work in the Open Air' for the St Ives Festival, September 1980, which featured Roger Ackling, Hamish Fulton and Richard Long.
