- The artist uses hand-written texts as the basis for her images, in this case a page of notes from an office jotting pad, creating a mesh of the outlines of words: 'I am very sensitive to the idea that the gesture within any of the documents I see is not mine, and it is important to me to minimise my presence. So I have evolved a set of rules, the most important of which is that I faithfully trace each page using an overhead projector at a scale of 1 to 1. I start at the beginning of a document and work straight through without alteration or omission.'
