- Curator's comments
- This is described by Paas under P-305, and is one of a large number of Lutheran commemorations of that year. The twenty verse couplets are all chronograms that give the year of the event described. cf for related broadsheets in P&D 1927,0611.1 and 1880,0710.370. The broadside was kept at the BM with the anonymous prints, until Florian Siffer of the Musées de Strasbourg pointed out that there are traces of Isaac Brun's signature in the lower right corner, see Roland Recht and Maire-Jeanne Geyer (ed) 'A qui ressemblons-nous?: le portrait dans les Musées de Strasbourg', exhibition catalogue, 1988, pp 62-3 (email January, 2017).
